First all-woman spacewalk - B1+

First all-woman spacewalk - 23rd October 2019

Christina Koch and Jessica Meir are US astronauts who made history on Friday when they did the first all-female spacewalk.

They began their mission with standard safety checks on their suits and straps, then they moved to the area to replace a battery.

The first all-female spacewalk should have happened in March but it was cancelled. This was because the International Space Station didn't have two medium-sized space suits.

The US sent its first woman into space in 1983. It now has more female astronauts than any other country.
