Kumbh Mela Tidy Up - 24th March 2025
The Kumbh Mela's a festival in Prayagraj, North India. It's in the United Nations' list of important cultural events. Many people went to this festival. Afterwards, 15,000 workers came. They cleaned the space.
It's important for Hindus. They go into the special rivers. The water washes away the past. They feel free from life and death.
Kumbh Mela happens every 12 years. The festival's connected to Jupiter. Jupiter takes 12 years to go around the sun. This Kumbh Mela was extra special. The planets were in very lucky positions. This only happens every 144 years.
Big crowds came to this festival. 660 million people went into the river. The festival was 45 days long.
Prayagraj built a tent city for everyone. It was 40 square kilometres with 150,000 tents. And there were 10,000 cleaners for 150,000 toilets.
But, there's lots of things to take away afterwards. Workers have to tidy everything up and move many toilets.
There was 20,000 tonnes of rubbish after the festival, too. The government wanted to clear it. It's important. Then, people can enjoy it in the future.
