William & Kate celebrate 10th anniversary - B1+

Ten years of a royal marriage - 10th May 2021

It's been ten years since Prince William and Kate Middleton got married at Westminster Abbey in London.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated their tenth anniversary with a photo shoot. The royal couple are pictured smiling for the cameras. The images were posted on the royal family's social media accounts alongside the message: "Wishing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a very happy wedding anniversary." William and Kate also shared a congratulatory message on their own Twitter account.

William married his university ex-flatmate Kate after an eight year romance. They've since started a family and have three children.

The couple do a lot of charitable work which takes them around the world. However, coronavirus lockdowns have kept them in the UK over the past year. William and Kate spent the time home-schooling their children. Together, the family baked cupcakes for a local care home. The couple showed their support for key workers by video calling their children. William also met with ambulance workers to say thank you for their hard work. Both William and Kate have become part of the UK National Health Service's Charities Together organisation.

When his grandfather, Prince Philip, died in April this year, William remembered him as a man who dedicated his life to his country. William promised to lead a similar life to Prince Philip.
