Black Lives Matter protests

Throughout the world, from the USA to London to Seoul, Black Lives Matter protests have been calling out racism.

The death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis, USA, has sparked the global protests. Mr Floyd’s death exposed the inequality faced by black Americans, while the officer responsible will stand trial for murder.

In London, protesters gathered in Trafalgar Square, “taking the knee” in silent contemplation both as a mark of respect and to register their protest.

The US has seen demonstrations spring up across the nation. Protesters marching and taking the knee with friends and family in the capital, Washington, rallied together in a show of unity that Black Lives Matter.
